Key Purpose and Responsibilities:
The Group Quality Manager will be the custodian of the International Facilities Services (IFS) Quality Management System (QMS).
This role is pivotal in driving departmental ownership of quality controls across all functional areas, including Supply Chain, Finance, Business Development, Human Resources, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
The incumbent will ensure that each department takes responsibility for maintaining and improving quality standards, in alignment with ISO 9001.
The Group Quality Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives, promoting a culture of Total Quality Management (TQM) throughout the organisation.
The incumbent must also be medically fit to travel via air and land across Africa as and when required.
The Group Quality Manager must maintain, manage, and continually improve the IFS QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
The Group Quality Manager must collaborate with departmental heads to embed quality controls into the core functions of each department, ensuring alignment with the overall QMS.
Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring departmental preparedness and adherence to the IFS QMS, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards across departments.
Drive TQM initiatives across the organisation, with a focus on departmental involvement and accountability.
Lead cross-functional teams in identifying, analysing, and resolving quality issues within their respective departments.
Develop and implement quality improvement programs, tailored to each department’s specific needs and challenges.
Monitor, analyse, and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs) for each department. providing regular reports to senior management on the status of departmental quality objectives, risks, and opportunities.
Required Knowledge and Qualifications:
Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably related to economics and/or quality management.
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent.
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Proven experience in driving quality ownership across multiple departments within a large organization, preferably in facilities management or a related industry.
Experience in managing ISO 9001 certification and audits.
Experience in implementing Total Quality Management (TQM) practices.
Understanding of food quality is advantageous.
